Almond Milk Recipe
I have been making almond milk on and off for years now, today I decided to share this simple recipe with you. I feel homemade almond milk is way more delicious than the store-bought brands. It’s creamier, thicker in flavour and has no preservatives. Also, this is so simple to make so why waste a ton of money on any fancy vegan milk brands when you can make this at home every day within minutes.
This season is that kind, which will make you crave some homemade almond milk. It would catch you off guard right in the middle of the taste, and you don’t want it to end. Almond milk will always be a great low-calorie/low fat/lactose-free option.
There are several dairy alternatives for healthy eating or weight loss, such as almond milk, oat milk, soy milk, or coconut milk. Like fruit and vegetables, milk is a vital part of a balanced diet, but the type of milk you consume is critical. The fat content of milk is used to classify it. Full fat, skimmed, toned, and low-fat options are available. Plant-based milk or low-fat milk is the most crucial choice if attempting to reduce weight or eat healthier.
Prep Time: 8 hours (You need to soak the almonds overnight.)

What Ingredients Do You Need To Make This Almond Milk Recipe
Almond
Almonds are a fantastic source of antioxidants. Antioxidants help protect against oxidative stress, damage your cells’ molecules, and contribute to inflammation, aging, and diseases like cancer. Eating four almonds a day helps you lower cholesterol, improves hair quality, prevents hearts diseases, helps fight wrinkles, help with weight loss and improves brain activities.
I’m a huge fan of almond milk, but I also know that almonds are bad for the environment, as they need a lot of water. But once you choose to stick with almond milk, trust me many would not consider going back to regular milk.
Ingredients
- Almonds: 1 cup
- Water: 4 cups
For flavouring: (optional)
- Vanilla essence
- Dates
- Maple syrup
- Honey
Equipment:
- Fast speed blender
- Muslin bag/nut milk bag or any old clean cotton cloth
How to Make Almond Milk
- Soak the almonds overnight. But in case you forget to soak, in that case, pour boiling water over them and soak them for 2 hours.
- Strain them before making the milk.
- Take a blender, add the almonds and 4 cups of water. (If you blender is small then do it in two parts).
- Blend. ( Less powerful blender will take time, you need to blend and stop..blend and stop. This will not heat up your blender too much).
- Stop blending when the liquid looks nice and creamy.
Time to strain the blended nuts
- Place the nut milk bag over a bowl.
- Pour the liquid.
- Squeeze nut milk bag with hands, getting out as much liquid as possible.
- Milk is ready. At this point you can add the flavouring of your choice. I prefer unsweetened that way i can use this milk for tea or coffee.
- Store the milk in a bottle in the fridge. This stays fresh upto 5 days.
You can add many other things to this and bring our new beverages. If you add some chocolate, you can have some perfect foamy hot chocolate almond milk. And such a hot drink will warm your heart and hold to your spirit in the upcoming winter season. Or more like some matcha green tea or latte.
