Healthy Homemade Chocolate Granola Recipe

Stop buying over-the-top, super expensive granola from the supermarket when you can make the most delicious granola at home in no time and with minimal effort. Also, you can customize this according to your preference, throw the things that you have in your pantry, mix them and bake.

Use dry fruits you like, you can even add coconut flakes, dehydrated fruits, seeds, the list can go on.

Serves: 2-3 people

Time: 35 min

Ingredients:

  1. GF oats: 4 cups. ( I used this brand)
  2. Amaranth or any other GF grain of your choice: 1/4 cup.
  3. Chocolate powder: 1 cup  (I used Hershey’s).
  4. Chopped almonds: 1/2 cup (or you can use any dry fruit of your choice).
  5. Homey/Maple syrup: 1/3 cup  (adjust the sweetness according to taste).
  6. Coconut oil: 1/4 or 1/3 cup, adjust this according to the grain you use. Some grains absorb more oil.
  7. Pink salt: a pinch
  8. Vanilla: a few drops (optional)
  9. Chocolate chips: (optional)

Method:

  1. First of all, since this is a DIY recipe, have fun. No need to stick to the exact recipe.
  2. In a big bowl add the oil+honey+chocolate powder: Mix well
  3. Add oats+amaranth+ salt: Mix them all very well
  4. Spread the mix nicely on a baking tray lined with butter paper.
  5. Bake @180C for 12-14 mins (make sure you turn the mixture with a spatula after 6-7 mins).
  6. or Bake @150 C for 20 mins.
  7. Granola is done. Let this cool down, store in an air-tight container.
  8. Enjoy with fresh yogurt, granola on top, add some fresh seasonal fruits.
