Gluten-free Garlic Naan Recipe Without Oven & No Yeast

Ingredients

For Garlic Butter

  • 3 tbsp- Butter (For VEGAN OPTION use olive oil)
  • 1 tbsp-  Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp-  Chopped green coriander

NOTE: DIFFERENT BRAND OF FLOUR WILL CREATE DIFFERENT TEXTURE FOR NAAN, SOME CREATE HARD TEXTURE, SOME SOFT, KNEADING WITH A BIT OF MILK ALSO HELPS IN MAKING SOFT NAANS, EXPERIMENT IN THE KITCHEN WITH YOUR FAVOURITE FLOURS AND SEE WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.

How to Make Gluten-free Garlic Naan at Home

  1. Mix GF flour, yogurt, oil, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, garlic and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add some water and knead a soft dough.
  3. Apply oil, cover the dough. Leave it aside to rest for 2-3 hours.
  4. Time to make garlic butter- 3 tbsp- butter, 1 tbsp garlic minced, 1 tbsp chopped green coriander. Mix well.
  5. After 2-3 hours, make the naans.
  6. Divide the dough into small balls and gently roll the dough ball to oval shape using a rolling pin. Make sure you do not make too thin nor thick.
  7. Now you have an oval shaped naan. Brush some water on naan. This will help naan stick to the tawa/pan while cooking on the stove.
  8. Time to cook this naan- Gently place naan on the hot tawa/pan.
  9. Flip this naan after you see some bubbles getting formed.
  10. Flip the tawa upside down and cook naan directly till it turns charcoal brown.
  11. Brush the butter-garlic mixture on top.
  12. Gently scrape the naan from the bottom and remove.
  13. Naan is done. Enjoy with mutton curry or pindi chole or any curry/dal of your choice. (Sharing links to recipes below)
