Rosemary Fish Recipe

You remember I told you about the rosemary plants in one of my posts on Instagram, so ya I brought back a lot of it and the first recipe I decided to make was this, rosemary fish in butter sauce, my all-time favorite recipe. There isn’t much to it though and that’s what I like about this recipe, it’s simple and comforting. A perfect dish for your weeknights.

Rosemary, fish and lemon are a marriage made in heaven. This combination is doesn’t get the respect that it deserves.  The dish is super easy to put together and I think this one is a great weeknight dinner dish. A couple of ingredients and the dish is done.

There are many benefits of eating fish, it is easily one of the best things to eat on the planet, filled with nutrients, protein, omega – 3 fatty acids, even Vitamin D.

Fish makes the skin and the hair better. I wish I could eat fish more often.

Dry rosemary or fresh, which one should you use.

Fresh rosemary for sure. Rosemary works very well with chicken, even potatoes. So if you buy fresh rosemary and you are left with some extra bits after the making rosemary fish, then add the rosemary to boiled potatoes, salt, and olive oil. This dish is exceptional too.

Which fish should you use for this dish.

Use any white fish, like Basa, Surmei. Indian Salmon is a good option too. I prefer Basa as it is easily available and doesn’t cost a lot also this fish is not very smelly and cooks faster.

  • Whitefish fillet: 400 gms
  • Rosemary: 2 sprigs rosemary
  • Butter: 1 tbsp

How to Make Rosemerry Fish Recipe

  • Wash the fish fillets.
  • Dust the fish with a thin layer of gluten-free flour. This will make the skin a little crispy when you cook the fish in oil.
  • Now in a pan, heat some olive oil. Place the fish fillets in (do not put all the pieces together, divide them into 2 batches), press the fish gently into the pan with a flat spatula, and cook over high (but not raging) heat until the underside turns golden brown one side.
  • Now add the salt, crushed pepper and cook on low-medium heat. When the underside turns dark brown, flip the fish over.
  • After you have flipped the fish, wait for the fish to turn light brown, now add the butter and one rosemary sprig to the pan. When the butter melts, spoon the butter over the fish with a spoon so that the butter covers the fish evenly and all over.
  • Cook the fish on medium-low heat for some time. When you see the underside is well cooked, take the fish off the heat. Squeeze some lemon on the cooked fish, serve with baked or grilled veggies.
