garlic naan

Restaurant Style Gluten-free Garlic Naan | No Oven | No Yeast | Vegetarian

Ingredients:

1 cup-  Gluten-free all purpose/ Maida flour (I use both all purpose flour and sometimes make naan with Gluten-free Bread Flour- using this brand here)

NOTE: DIFFERENT BRAND OF FLOUR WILL CREATE DIFFERENT TEXTURE FOR NAAN, SOME CREATE HARD TEXTURE, SOME SOFT, KNEADING WITH A BIT OF MILK ALSO HELPS IN MAKING SOFT NAANS, EXPERIMENT IN THE KITCHEN WITH YOUR FAVOURITE FLOURS AND SEE WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.

1/4 cup – Yogurt

1 tbsp- Oil

1 tsp- Sugar

1/2 tsp Baking Powder

1/4 tsp Baking Soda

1 tsp- Salt

1 tbsp- Minced Garlic

For Garlic Butter:

3 tbsp- Butter (For VEGAN OPTION use olive oil)

1 tbsp-  Garlic minced

1 tbsp-  Chopped green coriander

Method:

Step 1: Mix GF flour, yogurt, oil, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, garlic and salt in a bowl.

Step 2: Add some water and knead a soft dough.

Step 3: Apply oil, cover the dough. Leave it aside to rest for 2-3 hours.

Step 4:  Time to make garlic butter- 3 tbsp- butter, 1 tbsp garlic minced, 1 tbsp chopped green coriander. Mix well.

Step 5: After 2-3 hours, make the naans.

Step 6: Divide the dough into small balls and gently roll the dough ball to oval shape using a rolling pin. Make sure you do not make too thin nor thick.

Step 7: Now you have an oval shaped naan. Brush some water on naan. This will help naan stick to the tawa/pan while cooking on the stove.

Step 8: Time to cook this naan- Gently place naan on the hot tawa/pan.

Step 9: Flip this naan after you see some bubbles getting formed.

Step 10: Flip the tawa upside down and cook naan directly till it turns charcoal brown.

Step 11: Brush the butter-garlic mixture on top.

Step 12: Gently scrape the naan from the bottom and remove.

Step 13: Naan is done. Enjoy with mutton curry or pindi chole or any curry/dal of your choice. (Sharing links to recipes below)
